Eight local professionals were presented with certificates on May 24 at the University Center in Aberdeen after completing Harford Community College’s CORE Leadership program which focuses on professional leadership development for established leaders.
This 10-week program was designed specifically for mid- to senior level managers. Modeled after the Harford Leadership Academy (HLA), CORE Leadership is a highly interactive program designed to enhance the skills of local leaders. Participants are expected to have experience managing people and processes, a track record of increasing leadership responsibility, and a desire to pursue leadership excellence. Participants are challenged to further build their leadership skills and understand how their natural style can be honed for greater success in their work and personal life. CORE Leadership is also intended to provide new methods and strategies to confront challenges in the workplace. Each of the 10 weekly sessions focuses on a different aspect of leadership, including a Gettysburg Battlefield tour which focuses on leadership during crisis.
The CORE Leadership facilitators and lead instructors are Scott Walton (founder of Velocity Performance Apparel) and David Litterello (Business Intelligence Manager at Siemens Healthineers). Partnering with invited guest presenters, they led participants through a variety of key topics and exercises to promote understanding and use of best practices.
